Tilton "Street" clutch opinions?
Of the people out there with the street Version, what is your opinions on this clutch? Daily driving, ease of driving in traffic, hills, etc. I have the semi-street and am looking to change.

I daily drive with my car and maybe I suck at driving stick, but for me it's too easy to not pay extreme close attention to your clutch 100% of the time to keep the car driving smoothly in a day by day situation where you're trying to figure out where to turn, what lane to get in, looking for an address, and just generally paying attention to the city surroundings. Too many distractions in daily driving to fully enjoy it IMO considering all the negative trade offs you have to deal with. I also have the UR pulley and 3.9 final drive - which compounds the problem more

damn... it's a shame you guys are so far away... i'm thinking about swapping out my full street clutch for the semi street -- provided i could drive it first... i've got the full street down, haven't stalled in months, even in bumper to bumper, and i'm thinking about building my motor up a little more and will need a little more oomph

I'm not sure, maybe it's my JWT cams or that my car starts misfiring a lot that makes it harder to drive. My car gets really pissy as soon as the service engine soon light comes on. I've been religiously resetting the ECU every other day to keep the light from coming on. That seems to be the only way to keep the car happy and from stalling until I look into some other options to fix the misfire
been thinking of upping my idle from 900 to 1000 also like one member said he had to do to get his car with JWT cams to drive well.

sentry, just out of curiousity, how did the 350evo throttlebody help your throttle response? pretty nice?
i'm thinking about putting it in when i get the crawford cast plenum and headers sometime this month (whenever my # comes up

can't say i even felt a difference. I might have, but it could have easily been in my head. Seems you need an ECU flash to make any use of it.

yeah, i'll probably need some intensive ECU tuning (just take a hop up to AAM) when i put the headers, plenum and throttlebody on there or i'll start pinging / leaning out

i have absolutely no problems with this clutch -- i drive it up and down hills, in stop and go, all over the place... no problems
first day in a 5 mile stop and go traffic jam it smelled a bit because i was trying not to jump into the car in front of me, but after that it calmed down quite a bit, squeaks a bit once in a while if i try to slip it too much, but haven't had any problems with it in quite some time.

One of the disc's is a different material...
I will try to get andy to post in this thread... he drove tony's new street version clutch and had no problems with it... Mine is stubborn compared to tony's but it is because I do not have my pedal stop in place...
If the pedal stop is in place properly the moment you lift up the clutch pedal the clutch is engauged and there is no need for guessing..

Jason, My clutch engages about 3 quarters of the way up. I think that is my BIGGEST problem with this clutch. Since it does not start to engage as soon as I let off the clutch, I have to almost guess where it will engage.

When the clutch engagement point is way up high, it makes it VERY hard to not stall with a clutch this graby. If the clutch would engage closer to the stop, it may be a little better.

then your pedal stops are not set properly...
I remember yours WAS set properly Sentry and Lovet... But over time, the engaugement position changes as the clutch wears...
To set it, lift up the rear end of the car (both wheels off the ground)... Have the car off, Put the car in 2nd gear... have a buddy (give him beer) turn the rear wheels, while he is doing so (or trying to) push in the clutch pedal. Once the rear wheels start to spin freely (easier) then set the pedal stop 1/4" lower then that position... You MUST have your clutch start disconnected (jumperwire) to beable to start the car once the pedal stop is in place PROPERLY...
You will be able to start the car without pressing down the clutch...
If you start the car while it is in gear without pressing the clutch the car WILL fly forward...

yeah i've just been doing it by listening to the clutch change sound to that sound when the clutch is in then lowering the pedal stop lower so i have some give/travel on the clutch before engaging.

my trans is very dodgy so i always move the shifter around before i start my car...

I move the shifter around also, but it still jerks on start up. Plus, I don't think I can adjust the pedal stop up enough to get the clutch to engage as soon as I let up.
