5th gear is tight!
I have a question that I`m hoping you can help me on...
I had my 03` tranny replaced at 13k miles a few months ago. I also had a UR flywheel put in at the same time. My friend/Nissan mechanic mentioned how the shifting would be tight going into 5th and 6th compared to the lower gears. He was right.
I`m wondering if people who had the new tranny installed also have about 2-3 times the effort needed in the push to 5th (compared to the lower gears). No clunking, no grinding, no problems other than the `tightness`. I`ve only put about 1000 miles on it since the install, and it may (perhaps) have loosened a tad since then.
Do you think the shift to 5th will ``loosen`` more with miles? Should I ask to have some sort of adjustment made? Is it just a quirk of the new tranny and no big deal?
Thanks!

tight shifting to 5th
Yeah,
I should`ve said I have about 300-400 miles on the car since the tranny was replaced and the UR put in. I guess it seems minor to me - especially since the tech mentioned it (and kind of pooh-poohed it), but I`m curious.
It`ll definitely cost me a 1/2 second more on the acceleration times over 110
