After winning suit....Nissan has offered me money if I want to keep my car and put my own tranny in it as one of my options.
Is it to late to just reinforce my tranny if I already have grinding?
Also ~fineout~ if you can find that company name I would be very grateful

The only manual tranny option I know of is to swap in a completely new tranny. I remember Performance Nissan was keeping everyone up to date on what part # had the most recent fixes. I'd ask them which to get (and maybe even order from them). I think cooling has been improved and the synchro material has been improved too.
Try to avoid getting a rebuilt tranny. Apparently Nissan has been using rebuilts for warranty replacements. I've heard these aren't as good as a brand new one.

Ive been through 3 Nissan trannys. Im talking about an aftermarket completely different tranny.
Like maybe off a Skyline....Im not even sure...something Bulletproof that can handle High HP #s.
Even my newest tranny #3 is grinding into 5th. Nissan just lost suit but I may be taking the money and just buying/building a tranny and keeping my baby.

No one makes one.
The stock tranny will hold a lot of hp. The only thing I could suggest is putting a Nismo short shifter on and getting a nice twin-plate clutch and flywheel.
Actually, you may want to talk to 350EVO and see if they can do something custom for you as long as you stay within the money you have to spend.

Check out Xtrac Inc. @ www.xtrac.com or call them @ 1-317-472-2454. Keep in mind though that these tranny's are said to set you back about $16,000 but if Nissan's going to help sponser you this product than things could get very interesting. I got this info reading an article about this tranny in the August 2004 issue of Super Street.
If you really want one...send me an email.
We have one of our boxes out there somewhere to be spec'd out.

Dog teeth or ratio changes are options...but it has its price.
The main issue from our data and they gusy that are spec out our tranny is actually the material used in the current syncros and main gears themselves.
We were looking at having new gears made in the OEM ratios that wouldnt grind.
We also have a complete Tranny spec'd out that would be good for about 800+hp and Tq and can even be a seq. if you would like....but for street drving I dont rec. the seq.
Cheers
