i think that guy was full of it. for one, grounding kits only enhances the stability of the electrical units that control the car (most important IMO is the ECU). It creates better current flow to the negative terminal in your car battery, causing smaller spikes in the electrical units. From my experiences working with chipsets( Im an Electrical Engineer), I find that grounding almost always makes the difference in the world when it comes to performance. Installing a grounding kit will not hurt your car's performance, it could only help. If you have a meter, measure the resistance (OHM) from your VQ to your battery. I read 5 ohms before the grounding kit, and .05ohms afterward. I dont want to bore you with technicality. just get a 4gauge grounding kit, itll help the electricals in the car enormously. My 2 pennies.

Yep it's a no brainer, if the stock grounding system isn't up to par, adding a kit can only help. Will you see dyno results? doubt it. Will you drop your 1/4 mile eta, or add to your trap? doubt it. But the car should run smoother, more efficiently, and really it is a bit of insurance to make sure everything is safe.

I have been an electronic tech. for 11 years myself, and 5 ohms between the battery and chassis/engine is horrible. And like he said, don't use little wire the gauge has to be appropriate for the current application, 4 gauge does seem to be the norm with aftermarket kits.

I can't tell the difference with mine. Maybe I should try taking it off to see if I can notice a difference.

I originally bought a cheaper 8 gauge kit (similar to the one in the pictures posted by DayBlueZ). I really didn't notice much difference. Then I bought a 4 gauge kit. You can get them on eBay for around $40. Wow. The engine idles so smoothly you hardly even know its running. Does it make power? Most magazine tests bear this out. (My Z now makes 260hp at the wheels with 3 simple bolt-ons). I'm happy with the results of the 4 gauge kit. It looks cool, too.

knight white - that has to be the highest dyno ever for those 3 power mods (unless it's an 05?), but I digress

I swapped the other night from the insane.... (I forget the name of the brand) to the HKS Circle Earth I have had at the shop for eons. I ended up playing with a bunch of different locations, as well as hooking it up slightly different than the HKS instructions, and netted an idle that is now far more stable, as well as a bit of extra punch down low.

I just bought the stillen kit from performance nissan. nice kit, difference? I cant really tell. Before the kit my idle used to be smooth and once in a while it would bounce, it still does the same thing after the kit. It does look nice though
