The Nismo Diff. does make some noise when turning hard, But I changed the fluid to Royal Purple and everything is MUCH quieter now. Plus the Nismo diff is VERY easy to change settings on. You just have to unbolt one axle and use a socket to adjust, which can be done in about a half hour. Some Diff's need the oil to be drained and the cover removed.
It depends what you're looking for. Iv'e had open, Nismo, and the VLSD, and I prefer the VLSD for the 95% street driving I do.
I found the Nismo too aggressive for street driving, as the inside tire was always dragging at cornering speeds under 30 mph. I tried all kinds of friction modifiers, but nothing seemed to make a difference. I eventually swapped out to a stock viscous unit and I love it.
Like someone else said, search around and think hard about what kind of driving you do before you make a decision.
