What shops install cams in L.A. (Cali) and how much do they charge??

minimal gains? some cams are getting 8-10whp through most of the band depending on the lift/dur. thats not bad for $2000. consider some exhaust/header combos get about that for roughly the same price.

I'm willing to give you a hand if you have a spare car in case we don't finish on time. I'm assuming we don't need to pull the motor just front bumper off.

We no longer install the cams here, since they are not smog legal. You can contact us for more info and details however. Also, SP engineering can most likely do it, they are a bit pricy but they are top notch, you won't be able to find a better place for tuning than SP.

For those of you with Nismo or other Cams, did your engine loose a lot of torque in the 2-4k RPM range? And How much HP did your engine gain overall, and what is the power band like?
I'm thinking of adding Nismo cams for better engine responce in the higher RPM range -- kind of like the '05 track's power band. (don't mean to jack your thread...lol)

The cams will probably play in a negative way when it comes to cali smog testing, however I've never seen a z with cams do a test before to know 100%. You may scrape by, but i think that it will probably be worse in the lower rpms on the test.
