Stillen Engine Damper Review
gonna make it short and sweet.
this is a good product for the money. fitment was perfect and quality is very good. easy to follow instructions and easy to install as well.
as far as performance, well the damper does not do anything for wheel hop for those hoping to rid of that annoyance. however, it does seem to grip a little better and is more responsive when you get on the gas. gives a nice feel as to what the car is doing when your delivering the power.
hardly, if not at all, any cabin vibration..even with the air on full blast
overall....worth the money imo

the passenger side and the damper mounts down low towards the front of the motor. i will try and take some pics tonight for you bpl and for those that want to take a peak at the damper installed.

i also know that the 5zigen engine damper is mounted up top near the strut bar....but if you have aftermarket coilovers it interferes with the adjustment **** of the damper. this was the reason z1performance moved his engine damper to a different location.
maybe the 5zigen will work for you if you don't have coilovers....but the 5zigen is quit pricey.
the stillen damper is very affordable and looks, fits and performs well. i am sure you could find a different location but its going to take some custom work...and that might end up costing you some money.
i hope z1performance doesn't mind me using him as a reference...if so my apologies. speaking of z1, have not heard much from him lately on the boards...he's usually chiming in with good info
good luck

I've been very happy with my Stillen dampener that I installed a couple months back. Here is my review with some pics:

Note that I did not think the install was a piece of cake, there is very limited room to work down there, at least in the G. Maybe the Z is different or I just have fat fingers...

Hmm. So on contrary to initial response from other people who had it earlier, it seems like Stillen resolved the fitment issue. (little fabricating here and there.)
Now perhaps I gotta give this thing a try.. got sick of engine jerking off front and back when shifting..

well i was pleasantly surprised of the fitment, quality, and performance of the damper....its a great buy imo.
the install is pretty easy on the z....its tight but only took me about 30 minutes to an hour....only because i am very methodical so i work slower than most. the instructions are very straight forward and easy to follow.
i bought mine through performance nissan...competitive prices and fast shipping
