Help!! U/D Pulleys (harmonic balancer)
I noticed something while installing my Unorthodox Racing crank pulley. It doesn't have a harmonic balancer like the stock one does, this is something that I thought all crank pulleys should have to absorb vibrations and keep the stress off the crank. Is this bad...or am I mistaken? Need some clearity on this, Thanks Jason

This is also not something that is going to show up as a problem in the near future, but for those of us who plan on keeping their Z for a long time, you may want to think about keeping the stock unit.

The stock does not have a harmonic balancer either.. The rubber material on the stock is not to balance or remove harmonics of the engine but to reduce ringing within the pulley..So it has been reported by SAGE engine experts..Engine rotating mass is internally and dynamically balanced. Putting on another balanced crank pulley does not upset this balance..

Thanks pal
One more thing, if you answer the new guys this way too, why even bother making a post at all. I think there is a forum for a$$h@les somewhere.

Quite frankley people the search engine SUCKS. and I am real tired of all of you folks who think you need to flame the uninformed for not using it. If you don't have something of real value to add to a post, why not just ignore it? Everyone at some point was a noob with this car, Give the rest of them a break. What ever happened to " if you don't have something good to say Shut the **** up!" don't be a Dick.
Here's a little lite reading for you on the subject of the U/R pulleys, etc ...

i wasn't being sarchastic either. from all the reading i have done, it pointed me towards the stock pully being better for the engine. i think crawford makes ok parts, though i think the owner has a sub triple digit IQ, and they said they were not going to include a pully in their "crawford NA package" which basically included all na bolt ons + head work and cams because it could bork the engine in time especially at the higher RPMs and abuse it would be seeing.
that being said. i might as well get one. my mods are going to be fairly light seeing as people aren't getting all that much power from all these expensive na parts, not to mention i have a nice 100k mile warrenty. i'm just going to do a popcharger, ME 1/4 spacer (or 350evo intake whenever that comes out), pully, 3.9 rear and l-spec flash. for go parts at least. then probably a set of sways and good pads/fluid for turn and stop.
