use a towel, and a crescent wrench. all you need is a little bit of leverage, and she will pop right off.
you should always have a towel handy when screwing around with your ***.

be careful though. I tried the above advice first time I got my **** off. It just twisted the whole shifter and almost broke the attaching bolt. You are better off taking out the center console, undoing the shift boot and putting vice grips on the lower part to steady it while using channel locks and a towel on the top

You definitely need to put a pair of channel locks/vise grips on the section of the shifter underneath the shift boot.

Love the shifter, very unobtrusive to the hand and it looks great with the interior. Shifts feel very confident and are also very short, can't see wanting a much shorter shift then this.

Glad to hear all the positive feedbacks!
And yes, the built-in throw reduction has been fully optimized using the stock linkage. Anymore than that would be insane IMO.

Yeah ... we've got a few people out there also running this **** with the Rogue and they like it. I continue to be amazed, however. Don't you guys think that's too short and notchy? In either case ... I'm very glad it still works well!

finally received mine today! (I must be the last one, lol)
Thing is 10 times better in real life than in picture
Feels greate, I can't keep my hands off it! I'm reaching every 10 seconds just to feel it. It is very different from stock, much better... but requires getting used to it.
Don't know if it's my mind playing tricks, but gear engagement seems smoother too.

Been driving the **** for one week now and this thing is fabulous. It completely improved the driving/shifting experience, feels like a whole new shifter, everything is so sharp clear and direct.
Just for fun today I decided to put ye'old stock shift **** back to see the difference. My god did it feel like crap, in comparisson to the SS ****, it feels like holding a spongy wet turd!! (not that I ever hold one, lol). It's clumsy to hold and hard to find your hand around it and feels generally numb and clumsy to operate. Those who have installed the SS, you are screwed... you will never be able to go back to stock!!!

PS: as for the heat issue... in 32 degree under the sun, it doesn't significantly change temperature. Most of the heat in the shift **** comes directly from the transmission. Feels lukewarm after extensive driving.

Thanks for yet another positive feedback. Quite frankly, we don't get tired of getting them. *shameless*
For all THX SS **** owners ... it really is something to try and go back to the stock **** (temporarily) just for giggles. I'm fairly confident you'll tend to agree with Nano's impression.
