Default Not doing mods till I learn to launch

Yeah, love this car. My launching sucks at the 1/4 mile strip. But I beat a supra last week at atco. It's my punishment to not let myself do anything to the car until I launch with at least a 2.0 60' time. Then it's all out on the mods. Going to Maple Grove Friday night to try again (Atco didn't go so well).

Come to Zday on the 25th at Raceway Park and I will give you a few tips.... Most people on street tires are only able to pull a 2.1-2.2 on street tires... I usually pull 1.7's on my MT ET Streets...

I might see you at Maple Grove this Friday night.. look for a white Z with bronze Nismo rims and I'll keep an eye out for you.

I'm in the same shoes as you are but I think I learned at least the theory of how to launch on street tires.. From what I learned from the drag racing gurus on the board, it seems like any tire pressure lower than 25psi doesn't help at all and launching anything about 2000RPM results in wheel spin.

I managed to pull a best of 14.2 but that was still with a shameful 60 ft of 2.3+ on 275s. I was launching at 3000, then at 2800, then at 2500 which all resulted in wheel spin all the way through first and half of second.

Most of the time im running 2.2 0-60 foot times and running about 14.4. I too ned to learn to launch, the best spot i have found is 2500 RPMs and letting the clutch easy out and noit dropping it.
