Got Aftermarket Clutch? Need Feedback PLEASE!!!
Alright everyone.
I've got my UR flywheel.
I just need to make sure i'm making the right choice on the Clutch.
I had my heart set on the NISMO clutch after hearing some good reviews.... but...
Recently, I rode in a car that had the JWT Flywheel+NISMO Clutch setup.
There was a vibration coming from the car between 1800-2000RPM. (ALL GEARS) I mean V-V-V-Vibration. Mirrors shaking, panels vibrating, cockpit buzzing.
My other option is the JWT Clutch.
But i'm open to suggestions from those that have information, knowledge and experience with these aftermarket Clutches.
I've used the search button, this VIBRATION doesn't seem to have come up so much. I'm not talking about "cement mixer" noise. I can live with that. I'm talking about vibration from the front of the car.
For those of you running the UR Flywheel, which clutch are you running and do you have this vibration as well? (1800-2000rpm)
Please provide feedback.
Thanks everyone!!!

I'm thinking it was bad install, too.
But only feedback from other people will tell.
I'm still up in the air as to which clutch i should go with my UR Flywheel.

If I am not mistaken... the nismo clutch is about 1 pound lighter than the JWT clutch... however, the JWT clutch has a greater clamping force. Me personally, I would rather have the extra clamping force 1 pound isn't gonna make a difference, even on a drivetrain (spinning) piece. I think the difference is 1200KG (JWT) compared to 1030KG (NISMO) but it has been a while, not sure really on the specifics and I am too lazy right now to go look it up

The Nismo clutch is like 3 pounds lighter. I have the JWT clutch and Flywheel, and it works great. Revs faster than stock and it can handle the power of a FI motor. No noise or vibration.

Let me ask you a question. Right now I have a OEM Clutch Flywheel on my Z. I personally think this car drives a little rough. Do you think changing the clutch/flywheel would make it a little more confortable or a drive or less.

I also have a question. Excuse the noob-iness of the question too but I'm trying to learn, . Can I just get a JWT flywheel and install it? I'm sure I can, which would make it gain and lose RPM's faster right? Is it an easy install? And is that an ok thing to do? Or should I do everything all at once? How hard is the install for a flywheel? Thanks and I apologize again.

yes you can do the flywheel alone. not a "hard" install but if you are not experienced with installs of that level, best bet to leave it to a mechanic.
it reduces rotational mass, so rpms rise and fall more quickly.
As for installing by itself, depends on your car really, and your goals for the future. Installing a clutch and flywheel together is really no more expensive as just doing the flywheel - so comes down to whether you "need" a new clutch or not

xziteme,
Thanks for the offer bro. I'm getting my stuff installed TOMORROW!!!! (YEAYUHH!!!)
I opted to go for the UR Flywheel + JWT Clutch.
Although the NISMO is 2-3 lbs lighter. The extra holding power of the JWT is a plus.
I think later down the road i may go FI. If that's the case, I'll be much better off with the JWT.
Also... From the information i've collected and cars that i've seen in person. The NISMO didn't seem to couple well with other Flywheels besides stock and NISMO. More people seemed to have negative results (like vibration)
I'll be reporting back tomorrow night with a full review.
I'll post a link in here to the new review thread i'll be creating.
It'll be a very meticulous review. Tomorrow will be first impressions. Then i'll keep it ongoing as the flywheel and clutch get broken in. I won't be going too crazy as soon as it's installed. Give it about a good 100 miles or so before gunning her hard.
Wish me luck guyz. I'll be back.

I just got the JWT Clutch and Flywheel installed this past weekend.
The Pedal feels much stronger now, like a real clutch, I hated the stock clutch.
But there's quite a bit vibration when launching and some rattling on idle, it seems to fade out after a while but it's there.
I was told that's normal but it does feels and sound a bit weird. Since Performance Nissan installed it I'm assuming they did a good job and it is normal.
it feels great driving though

basically when I'm in 1st and start from a stop I think around 2000 rpm
It feels like the engine is shaking and then settles once you rev up a bit higher. It only happens in 1st gear. and then there's a rattling noise on idle which usually settles after a few seconds or when I push the clutch pedal in and out
