Default Cheapest way to low 13s

I just got my 350z on Sunday. What's it going to take to get the car into the low 13s? Mind you, I'd like to keep my city mileage above 20 mpg (getting 24/25 mpg now).

supercharger and some good tires, but if you want to stay NA, you may be able to get by with a few bolt ons but would need slicks to get a good enough launch which is hard on the clutch so that would need replacing after a while of drag racing with slicks. Man modding this car is expensive.

Default You should have bought a 4-banger.

The 350Z is a expensive car. Go figure..the parts for the car are going to be expensive. And just because you have a 3.5L, dont let that trick you into thinking you're gonna keep that nice gas mileage. Im getting low 13s out of supercharger, headers, and exhuast (with no tune). Like the post before me, supercharger and some tires, or supercharger and some bolt ons. Going all motor will eat your gas mileage, but let me assure you, so will the supercharger.

Man up my friend, and kiss that gas mileage goodbye! You've got a Z now, it's meant to go fast, not far!

intake, y-pipe, cats/test pipes, crank pulley, plenum/spacer, ecu reflash

good street tires

Practice

mid-low 13s

This will significantly be more expensive than slicks or nos alone, but unlike nos and slicks, it's always on and much more enjoyable.

Depends if you only care about the track and want to own only there, or want to have the extra kick in everyday driving and own the street too.

If your enthusiast is a 5AT get a high-stall torque converter, slicks and do a brake torque launch. If that doesn't get you there add intake and exhaust. If you still aren't there NOS.

I had the NX wet kit on my last car really good kit. I've installed a NOS brand kit as well and i think the NX is better.

It all depends on different conditions as well. Elevation, Track prep, and weather. Most people on the east coast will run faster times than people on the westcoast depending on elevation.

Well you can get into the high 12's if you add this stuff. . . . . .
JWT clutch, JWT pressure plate, JWT flywheel, JWT pop charger, AAM plenum spacer, AAM ECU flash, AAM Y-pipe, SPL intake pipe, Helix test pipes.
Along with some TUFF shifting and you good to go! Crazy but it has been done!

The cheapest way to a 13s car??? Well, sell the Z and buy an SRT-4. Take the cash left over from selling the Z and mod the hell out of the SRT-4 and you will have a low 13s or high 12s car.

Seriously though, F/I is the way to go. If you do it right, you can have a low 12s car.

Get some slicks, test pipes, plenum and crank pulley. Practice your shifting and you will easily achieve low 13's.

if you are going to sell the Z, than buy a bike and you will be in the 10s.... and with the leftover money buy an econobox.

+1000 Look in my signature for my mods list-I only have bolt-ons and I run 13.1 with a CRAPPY 60ft on slicks. On street tires with my usual 2.0 60ft, low 13's (13.1-13.2) would also be possible. My car will go 12's with a better launch.
