Dealer says "No" to nismo flywheel/clutch !?!
I was waiting for a transmission to arrive, and be replaced by my dealership, ( round rock nissan, Austin TX) so I ordered though their parts department, a new Nismo Clutch/Flywheel. I asked my service guy to put these on instead of reinstall the stock parts when they replace the tranny. He says no problem. Now 1 week later the Service Manager calls me and says the parts are all in, but he will not install the Nismo Clutch/Flywheel because it will void my entire powertrain warranty. After much debate he faxes me a paper from Nissan stating, " R tune parts are sold "as is" without warranty of any kind whatsoever. The installation of these parts could also void vehicle or other Nissan warranty coverage, or result in otherwise covered parts being excluded from coverage." I'm a little pissed. I told him to refund my money for the Nismo parts, and I would take my Z somewhere else for service. Any thoughts?

Hmm
I thought it had to proved that the part caused a failure to another component, such as a transmission. A clutch is a "wear" item, and usually isnt replaced for free after a certain time anyway. I think that since there are members on this board that have had numerous tranny's replaced, Nissan is just trying to use any excuse that they can, to not replace the tranny again if this new one turns out to be bad also. Major bummer.

You're exactly right Anthz. Sounds like he was just trying to give you a hard time instead of assisting a faithful customer. I'd spread the word about this poor customer service experience. Too many bad Nissan dealerships out there.

Well, my Nissan dealership won't even touch my car anymore. Not even for routine maintanance. All the salespeople and techs come out to see it though. Just find yourself a proper performance shop.
