Default anyone ever see a LSx powered 350z

I think this would be an interesting combo. I just haven't seen anyone make this conversion yet.

I hope I do!!! LS engine are nothing to be looked down upon. A nice heads/cam LS2 or LS6 in a 350z would be a badass.

It might be bad *** in a straight line. But the thats about it.

The Z is about more than just brute power and torque.

Right, that's why it would be cool to transplant one into a 350Z.

that would be sick.

if your worried about the weight in the front taking from the balance of the car... did you know that the APS twin turbo kit is 150lb in its 2 boxes... maybe 20-25lb of that is packaging?

you can also discount the weight of the exhaust manifolds and other stuff it replaces...

But you know if I put an LS7 in the Z, it would also be supercharged

Is there another way to do it? Of course it would be forced induction.

THe sound of a cammed LS7 pumping under the hood of the Z would be amazing. It could probably be done if you moved the battery and other miscelanious fluid bottles out of the engine bay.

Unfortunately, I think I'm gonna do the LSx into a 240 instead of the 350. No need to scrap a good setup in this car when I could make a 2,200 lb 700hp beaZt.

And on another note, your battery is still in your engine bay? Shame on you.

I'd love to have a LS2 in my Z. Equal gas mileage and more grunt. Nice and sneaky.

The LSx engines are great but if anyone ever put one in a new Z they'll be the red headed step child. All the chevy guys would hate to see it a japanese car and all the import guys will think you sold out.

Kinda like the mustangs with big block chevys.

I don't know about that. Most people find an LSed rx-7 to be one bad SOB.

Who cares? Put a great motor in a great chassis and you get a great car. What if somebody dropped in the SC'ed 5.5 ltr Merc motor from the E55? How about the BMW V8 from the prev. gen M5? That would haul azz. Maybe they would be more acceptable since they cost a fortune. The great thing about the Chevy engines are their affordability. If my engine blew tomorrow and somebody told me they could get me an LS2 or even an LS1(and get it to work ) for the same money as a replacement VQ, I would probably do it.

You sure about that? I've heard of FD guys swapping out their rotaries for LS1s, and only gaining somewhere around 30 lbs, while overall power output increased by around 120 hp.

This is sorta the same principal that the shop that built the IS430 had. Swap out stock 3L I6, for a 4.3L V8 (from a Lexus). Total weight gain was around single digits.

anybody remember the "monster miata?" That was a great idea.

Some of us just love the sound of a 90 Degree V8!
