Default f.i. a/t trouble

Hello all,

My a/t acted alittle weird today. After puting it into "D" and appling some gas the car wouldn't shift into 2nd gear or it would decide to barley move although the rpm's would climb, almost like the plates weren't pressing together. Reverse worked fine. When I tried to put it into "M" mode, the selector stayed on "D" and I could not switch gears manually. I stopped the car, turned it off and waited a few seconds, then when I restarted it the a/t light flashed for a few seconds, then stopped. The car ran normally for about 5 minutes then it started doing the same thing??? Any thoughts?

I hate to be the first one to say it, but it sounds like the tranny is slipping.

If one has FI & the FI is removed before proceeding to the Dealer. Would you think Nissan would cover this issue w/ the factory warranty (original &/or extended)?

i may have found the problem. i mentioned the digital display in the gauge cluster didn't change from "D" to "M"... well i believe water has found it way into my car. I ran all of my wiring through the hole where the main wiring loom comes through near the corner of the windshield & the corner of the hood. I didn't re-seal it properly & water has leaked down. Of course, that's where th ECU & i believe TCM are located. Well water & electronics don't mix well. So maybe I'll get lucky & it'll be just my TCM. I have a procharger, its set at about 5psi, so i'm optimistic that its just an electrical issue. i'll let ya'll know
