There is an TSB that states only the Nissan fluid is to be used and that the fluid never has to be changed. If changing is required then it is supposed to be performed by an authorized service department.

I on the other hand installed a VB upgrade and TC myself and this required a fluid change. I still used the Nissan fluid, which is like $10/qt. The hard part is getting the fluid level back in place without having a way to monitor fluid temps and that is probably the main reason for having a service department with a Consult II device perform the work.

dont u need a special key to check the fluid/dipstick? thats what the dealer told me regarding trans fluid. you are better off bringing the car to the dealer for this one.

ON mine there's just a 10mm bolt onholding the dipstick in place. Unbolt it and your good to go.
