Potential of a NA 350z?
What is the potential of the 350z in NA form?
I'm talking only in terms of power and reliability, not including chassis/suspension mods.
So, with $10k what could you do, and how much power could you get?
Note, anything goes except FI/NO2

Any N/A engine pushing out close to 100 hp per liter is pretty much maxed out.
I'm sure plenty of people on this forum will chime in who have spent a fortune on N/A mods.
The general consensus is from people I know who have spent a ton of money on N/A mods is this:
There is very little to gain, and for the cost of an FI kit including install and tuning you will get hardly anything over 300 hp, espically on the older engines.
This isn't an inefficient domestic v8 with a ton of liters and a relatively small hp per liter.
Just like the S2000 or any other efficient Japanese engine design, the most results will be had through FI.
I can't tell you how many times I've seen the regret from people who dropped a fortune hoping for big HP on the NA Z engine, it's just not worth it.
If you want that go get a 5.7 liter Gm product. Then you can add headers, exhaust etc and add real HP. Not with this engine

Obviously its not going to make the numbers the LS1 or LS2 will make NA, but I think 300-315 rwhp is possible.
It would cost a pretty penny though, and I would rather go with the APS TT system, than try and make power NA, once the amount goes north of $5K.
