Default What oil grade should one use given the following climate?

I've decided to start using Motul on my TT Z and was wondering if I'm going to need to alternate between two types of oil grades depending on the season or not. I live in Florida primarily and also in Vegas. The time in Vegas is mainly in the summer. That being said we're talking hot as heck most of the year with 2 days of cold in the winter lol. Anyway if I had to guess I'm not going to need to switch and maybe go with a 5w-40 but i'm not really sure what the difference between the 5 and 10 is so if someone could help me out on that I'd appreciate it. I did searches but nothing really helps pinpoint what i should do in my exact situation so i'm not being a bum.

If you live in a warm/hot climate region, you should prob use a thicker oil like 10w40.
