Default Shift **** keeps on twisting...what to do?

My Shift **** keeps on twisting to the right whenever I do a run causing me to miss 2nd at times. I want to tighten it up.
Is there a "elegant" way of fixing this?

any thoughts?

ps. I like the stock shift know a lot so getting a new one is not an option

I know what you can do. Keep twisting it till it is tight and lines up. It is a nylon threaded **** so just keep turning it righty tighty till it is tight enough. I would recommend using pliars to hold the shifter while you twist the ****.

the problem is the stock shift **** has tons and tons of lock tite one it...

I do not recomend doing what king tut says.. you will tear the shift boot...

I recomend getting a new shift ****... it comes with the thread lock already applied...

They could argue that because I have an aftermarket turbo and it was removed for the install it voids the warranty...

Not worth the hassle.

I'll try the locktite method first and if that doesn't work I just buy a new ****

Thanks everyone!!!!

I did that to the one in my old car, but that gets really messy if you ever need to remove the tape.

You will if you are a moron. You pull up the panel around the shifter first along with the boot and put some pliars on the shifter to keep it stationary while you tighten or remove the ****. You should always be doing that to protect the shifter and tranny from damage.
