Cool Tornado

Has anyone ever heard of it, it's advertised everywhere and claims to improve gas millage along as horsepower. I was close to trying it on my accord but didn't want the hassle with the installation, even though it was pretty easy. The thing cost about $50 and is available at the local auto store. I think the people on the commercials are acting, the people at Pep Boys told me that it was junk. Anyone tried or heard someone who has?

haha the folk here call it a turbonator. i think..its the same thing....its like a supercharger (real small) that runs off AC current...its mad dumb IMO. At 6600RPM you gulp somewhere at like 12650 L/min of air, in perfect conditions. A little fan like that moves air in CFM quantities...

OMG...please don't. I would agree to what the guys at Pepboys said...it's junk. You're better off just buying an aftermarket intake.

Besides the other 71 "Tornado" posts, this is the first that I’ve heard about it.

you are more likely to suck that thing into your intake manifold than you ever seeing a hp or gas mileage increase. If anything, that pos is only blocking airflow harming gas mileage and hp. And if you learned to use the search function you would find a million threads on this full of posts like mine.

Thats the thing that spins the air into a tornado like pattern right? yeah, i was young and tried it on my Celica.

Results: Celica weigh 0.5lbs heavier and thus my mpg and hp went down. And I lost $75 dollars to some guy on T.V.

Save your coin for the extra gas you'll spend on driving around to find the lowest gas prices

Oh yeah, you really had me convinced. I had already ordered one for my Z before I even read your entire post. Got any waterfront real estate in New Orleans you want to get rid off?

Actually, that is not a bad idea. Sure, they're a little 'damp'. But for a small chunk of change I bet you could gather a ton of goodies.

My brother put a 12v bilge pump fan inline with his intake and logged a whopping 2hp gain. (Consistently)

So for 40 bucks, and a bit of wiring...

This was a 2.4 KA, and it drank a lot less air then any FI Z.

It was last night I was listening to the Coast to Coast radio show with George Noorey. You know, the old Art Bell show. I always listen to that show to put me to sleep at night. So last night this guy is on the show talking about weird technology and he talks about how putting 2.5 OZ. of Acetone per 10 gallons of 91 octane gasoline does wonders for your engine. He claimed very noticable power increase, better gas mileage, keeps the heads, valves, exhaust clean & blah blah blah. He said his Max with 210,000 miles on it that he put's Acetone in is in great shape and still going strong. I don't know. Kind of stuff you want to believe but has to be bogus. I gotta stop turning that show on. Acetone, ya right!!
