If you were to start all over from scratch on ur 350z....
What would you go with from start to finish... and if u have the time and thinking ability. What would you get from start-finish for the different driving styles, daily driving, daily/street, drag/street, drag... etc
Daily Driven = PopCharger, Plenum, Headers, Exhaust, pulleys, 3.9 final drive
Daily/Street = PopCharger, Stillen Stage 2 or 3, Exhaust
Drag/Street = Built Engine, ATI Procharger with upgraded pulley, Exhaust, Test Pipes
Drag Racing = Built Engine, Twin Turbo Kit (high boost), plenum, exhaust, pulleys, test pipes, Motec EMS, nitrous with window switch, intercooler sprayer, anything else you can afford
Daily/Street = PopCharger, Stillen Stage 2 or 3, Exhaust

Daily/Street - Basic Bolt-ons (Cold Air Intake, Headers, Exhaust), Re-flashed ECU, Clutch Type LSD, Drop (springs/full coil-over), and Wheels.
Drag/AutoX - HKS Rotrex Supercharger Kit (as is)/Turbonetics Ball Bearing Single Turbo Kit (Tuner Version), Injectors, Fuel Pump, Engine/Fuel Management, Clutch/Flywheel, Clutch Type LSD, Full Coil-Overs, Sway Bars, and Wheels

isn't a 2 way LSD not useful for drag racing? Isn't 1.5 way fine?
also the stock car is about as good as you'll get for drag racing. The more aero parts you put on, the more drag you get. That drag is for downforce - used for cornering mainly when you're going like 80+mph around a corner and could use some extra downforce to stick better. Downforce slows you down in a straight line and by the time you reach 80+mph traction probably isn't as big of an issue - actually you want less drag cause that's where straight line racing will start slowing you down
another thing, why do you need a turbo/SC for autox? I mean really? don't you think the 3.9 gearing would do you better than having 100 lbs of added weight up front killing your quick handling (what you need in autox right?) And most FI kits will not get enough traction at least on street tires in slow speed courses
honestly if I were to do it all over again, I wouldn't have even got the Z and would have went with a different car.... The Z just isn't a platform that gives you a lot of solid improvement for the money you spend on mods. You spend big bux on FI only to find out you don't have traction and can't go faster than 12's on street tires

Well to be honest... im not looking for 12s (at this point) im bairly 19 and paying for all this on my own and about to start law school next fall. So cash wise, I have limits... I want to keep it a good daily driver meaning good gas milage and smooth driving, and i want it street race capable with no hard complications and really not damaging the engine with TOO much power...
I think the intake, exhaust, flash, and maybe a few more bolt ons should be good for me. I just like hearing how people fix up cars cuz im a car junky like most of you are, and wanna wet myself when i see that SICK 4$$ car you dream off, or your car being.

you'll get the most improvement out of a lighter clutch/flywheel and the 3.9 final drive but your MPG will go down.

Well the only thing ive done so far is a grounding kit that a friend gave from his 350z. Popcharger in a week. Then saving for nismo exhaust. Once ive hit that point im gonna see where i am. Ill probably go headers there or upgrading my plenum *been really looking into that recently* or just save save save until i get close to ATI pro...
headers are one of those items a lot of people later regret doing if they end up turboing - be SURE you want it. Believe me when I say as cool as headers or any bolt on part is or some of the reviews on the forums make them out to be, they're nice, but not as great as you might think they'll be. All sorts of people spend $5k on bolt on parts only to gain like 35 rwhp over stock
well by the time i get the exhaust it will be around xmas im sure so i have more time to research. My beginning to a wonderful car sound good tho? Any suggestions on bolt ons to get after exhaust then? **note ive had this 2weeks and still learning what would be best even with the 8months of research i did before i bought the car** haha
high flow cats are good
intake manifold or plenum is good too and easy to do yourself.
those are both easy mods that don't cost a lot and are easy to reverse and will work with most FI setups.
after that it's a tossup depending on what you feel the car's weakest link is - power or handling

grounding kit (done)
popcharger (bought already just waiting for arrival)
Nismo exhaust (next big mod upgrade)
Crawford plen (sound best for price/hp gain)

And thanks man I really do appreciate the help, i did all installs and buys for my camaro products and a lot were regretted, i wanna just save myself the trouble and the money with this car.

I really like the crawford cats. They also are probably the most likely to pass visual inspection for emissions - not that you're probably worrying about that anytime soon

IMO, if you were disappointed with any breathing mods you did to a camaro, you're going to be 2x disappointed with bolt on mods for the Z. Usually most bolt on parts on the Z weigh less than stock, look cooler, sound cooler, and add a little, but not a lot of power

The Z has great power already and teh amount of power your adding per dollar is miniscule. The nismo exhaust is great but after that get rims please. The stock tires are crap, it will transform your ride more than youd think.
yeah stick with the track rims, they're nice in every way possible other than I wish they were wider so you could go with wider tires. Rims are a lot of money anyway - and then you gotta buy tires that fit them etc. Easy to drop $3k on new tires/wheels.

yeah thats what i thought the day i bought the car, the rims look nice, very easy to take care of and clean up... less maintenance, and have to be lightweight in general... works for me fora while
