Have you installed a grounding kit?

One thing that strikes me as curious. I thought that in most modern computer-controlled cars, the computer managed the idle rpm. I don't know for sure how idle is managed on the 350Z, but it does surprise me that changing the grounding would dramatically lower idle, the way folks are reporting.
Another question (since I don't actually own one of these cars) - the cables you're installing, are they replacing existing ground wires, or are some of them new connections you're adding?

I personally didn't notice a difference in idle RPM. Idle may be a little smoother, less variance, but that's about it. To be true, I didn't measure it before & after.
The grounding kit doesn't replace anything, it enhances. From the factory there are one or two (I don't really know) engine ground wires, but you don't do anything to them (or even acknowledge their existence) when you install a grounding kit.
If you're looking for dramatic difference, I'd say this might be a disappointment. I see it as a cheap easy way to help ensure that things are working as well as possible.

I'm game for a CA Chapter... although we are like 8 hours apart on I-5.
And as for my tires, I'm getting rid of my Nitto 555. Apparently, that was the wrong size to get. America Tire guy recommended the wrong sizes... i.e., 275 in the rear was too wide. See what happened here.

They told me the same thing here about my tire sizes, I am keeping mine regardless, I'm not sweating it, I just lowered my air pressure some. It feels right to me.

America Tire admitted their fault and replacing all four Nitto tires with the correct (stock) size Bridgestone S-03's.

Thanks Insaneanime
Installed Insaneanime's kit yesterday and noticed a smoother ride... granted it wasn't a life changing experience, but well worth the price... PLUS excellent goodies thrown in. Thanks again Insaneanime.... you da man...

does it matter if you don't use the "standard" mounting location? I installed mine but in different location. I think I noticed smoother idle, not sure...

It doesn't really matter, as long as you have a nice loop. I have both Guy's (Insaneamine) and Mike's (Skiddazle) kit. Both have different routing for their respective kits. No significant difference between them. Both offered smooth idle and rev above 4K.

Here is what I did..
battery to front of engine
right side intake manifold to front of engine
left side intake manifold to front of engine
underneth hood sensor (frame) to front of engine
that's it. so all wires connects to front of engine and then back to battery. Is this fine?
