Default Cylinder Head chared

I finally got my motor down to the bear block
But when i took off the heads, i noticed my cylinder heads were very chared and had a flakey residue on them. I was running a step colder plug for my nitrous, did this cause my buildup. Im talking alot of chared material. I saw pics of other stock pistons after removal and they looked just as black so im not sure if I am overreacting. Does the step colder plug do that much more.???
If all goes well, my motor will be built by the guy who was on the the latest episode of rides who built up that 572 chevy in the detroit area.

Very common with unburned fuel...especially from colder plugs. Was the motor going through any oil??

O.K...then it will be fuel related. You see this alot with lower octane crappy fuels that don't burn completely. Same results as running a colder plug.

I see
so a car that burns oil has the same type of look to it then. I assume your refering to oil that gets by the rings and gets in the combustion chamber ?

Oil build up will be sort of shiny, fuel build up dry and flaky.
