Does all 2004 automatic G35s come with a viscous lsd from the factory? Is it a specific model you have to order, like the Z (anything above the base model)?

 

Does anyone know? I am about to swap pumpkins and this is the info that I need before the swap.

 

I believe that all AT cars with the 18" wheel & tire package have the VLSD.

 

is there a way you can check to see if it has the VLSD>???? maybe by the VIN number or possibly on the pumpkin??

what about spinning the tires a certain way?? i have heard that only the lsd will spin them the same direction??

One way to check, do a burnout and if it leaves two stripes on the pavement you have a lsd.

well even my friends TT g35 will just spin one tire at the track, he has it fully loaded with brembos, so that theory wont work or the lsd test...


i am not sure what package i have on it, i bought it used so not sure...

 

If you jack up the rear of car and turn one of the tires the other will turn the same direction if it is LSD equipped. If they turn opposite directions it is an open differential. You can do the same if you have a pumpkin out of the car....there is a noticeable resistance in the VLSD equipped diff's.
