Before anyone recommends it: Yes, I've read the post at https://my350z.com/forum/engine-and-drivetrain/128253-high-clutch-want-to-lower-your-clutch-engagement-point.html.
My clutch engagement point on my Z has gotten very high, and it seems to be getting higher as time goes on. It's to the point now where barely any clutch pedal input is required to shift. Seriously, you barely have to push the clutch pedal in half an inch to shift. Worse yet, this seems to have gotten higher and higher over time. I'd swear it didn't used to engage that high.
Because of the continually rising engagement point, my mechanic friend suggested this typically means the clutch is going out, and may need to be replaced. However, I've only put 22k miles on my car... why on Earth would I need a new clutch already? Thankfully my clutch isn't slipping (yet), so I know it's not totally ruined. But if the engagement point continues to rise any higher that could become a problem.
What do you guys think? I have a JWT flywheel with the stock clutch, so maybe the JWT just ate the clutch? Maybe after getting the lightweight flywheel I simply drove so aggressively I wore the clutch out? These don't seem like feasible answers, but I guess they're possible...
