Default removed resonator, reinstalled, but...

ok, I had the resonator removed and then had it put back on. However, In total, I had the y-pipe cut out and replaced with
2x2 1/2" cusom Y pipe that goes into the presilencer pipe, and also added a flowmaster 80. With that setup it was quite loud, and also had a oud obnoxious drone at part throttle.

I had the resonator reinstalled, it still feels more powerful than stock (but will have to wait to dyno after my intake) and has the exact sound I was looking for. Near stock at cruise and part throttle, and a very nice growl under acceleration.

I did without the flex bands of the stock y-pipe. Never had them before on other cars, and the exhaust guy said they were really only needed on fwd systems. The stock Y is very tiny, 2" or less, and is not mandrel bent, so it is quite small, and I think this mod probably helped a lot. Haven't noticed low end power loss either.

At the junction of the stock y-pipe it looks like there is a cat there. Is that the case? And if so do you think you'll pass emmisions with only pre-cats?

Also, did replacing the resonator completely get rid of the drone you mentioned?

Thanks for the info,
Jeff

there is no cat in the junction. Its just a pretty small y pipe, and its not even mandrel bent. And yes, replacing the resonator got rid of all the drone.
