BIG Power lost after mod
Oh man, do not mess around with the Z unless you're absolutely sure you know what your doing. I've thought of playing around with the car mechanically, but when it comes down to it, I tell myself, screw it. Rather have a pro work on it. And trust me, even some nissan techs, I'm kind of skeptical about, too. HRRRHRRHRRMMM, like Denville Nissan in north NJ. Sorry I had to throw that in there.
the person who had done it is a ase certfied machanic and work on the car before, he is not my age! it was a trade for my for a stillen that was in a 500hp car (which was build be the same guy that did my car), which only ran about 800 miles before he stop drovin it since the stillen could not hold the hp. is it that bad to reuse same fluid with only 800 miles.
i no i am going to get killed if moms find out. if the car is messed up i can put back the stock one and hope warrty will cover it.

That's total crap. I hate it when I see comments about people messing up their car with mods, then even contemplate returning their car to normal and having Nissan pay for the botched mod by fixing the car.
You chose to mod your car, and if that mod messed up the car, own up to your responsibility and pay to have it fixed!

We need more information. In your description of the problem you are stating that the car isn't responding properly to the gas pedal and that the rpms are climbing slowly, is this while the car is in "D", "N" or "P"? I'm assuming it is while in "D" so when the car is in "N" or "P" and you give it gas, what is happening? I changed the VB on my own car and I am no where near a mechanic, just mechanically inclined. This install is not that bad at all, more messy than anything and there is very little to do incorrectly if you follow some simple instructions. The tranny fluid is frickin expensive at $10+ per quart and you need around 12 qts to do a complete replacement so I can easily see filtering the barely used fluid for this as long as everything was clean in the process. The real pain is getting the fluid level back to the correct amount as Nissan's dip stick is not easily interpreted and when I aksed multiple various mechanics they all had different responses. It is however, crucial to get the level right and would be easiest to take it to the dealership since they can hook up the consult II and check the fluid temp against the dip stick reading. I almost wonder if someone sold you a trashed unit though since it came out of a high HP car.
My car is doing this same PROBLEM after i got it back from the dealer 2 days ago they replaced my 6MT under warranty for 3rd gear grinding. I have been trying to figure out what they did basically in all the gears the car is fine until WOT then it acceleratoes as if only 50% throttle GurgenPB drove my car and knows what im talking about. This weekend im going to try to find out the proble. Any a suggestions appreciated.
PS. its NOT your tranny I have a manual trans and have the same problem

Try this for ***** N giggles
Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning
Operation Procedures
1. Make sure that accelerator pedal is fully released.
2. Turn ignition switch is “ON”.
3. Turn ignition switch is “OFF” wait at least 10 seconds.
Make sure that the throttle valve moves during above 10 seconds by confirming the operating sound.
Idle Air Volume Learning (Throttle Position Learning)
It is better to count the time accurately with a clock.
Operation Procedures
1. Perform “Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning”.
2. Perform “Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning”.
3. Start engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
4. Turn ignition switch “OFF” and wait at least 10 seconds.
5. Conform that accelerator pedal is fully released, turn ignition switch “ON” and wait 3 seconds.
6. Repeat the following (steps 7a, 7b) procedures quickly five times within 5 seconds.
7a. Fully depress the accelerator pedal (HARD)
7b. Fully release the accelerator pedal.
8. Wait 7 seconds, fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for approx. 20 seconds until the Check Engine Light (CEL) stops blinking and turned ON.
9. Fully release the accelerator pedal within 3 seconds after the CEL is ON.
10. Start engine and let it idle.
11. Wait 20 seconds.
12. Rev up the engine two or three times and make sure the idle speed and ignition timing are within the specifications.
