the Z still uses vacuum lines to tell it when to shift and how much line pressure???? tell me it is not true. this is older technology and i would hope it to be run in the ecu via throttle position and rpm.
anyways, why not try the old valve body and see if you have the same problem. that would answer alot of your questions, would it not? btw- spring a few bucks and get new tranny fluid. if anything it will save you more flaming in the future.

if the problem persists, then it is a problem with the install. if it goes away, then you have a defective part. you need to put in the wrench time and figure it out. or pay someone to do it.

The problem seems to be when the car is cold. This morning the problem was there and after about 30 mins of driving the car it started "fading away" ( not doing it as much ) until it was gone by about 45mins. Weird. no CEL, inconsistent, Lets see what happens. And it all started after the DEALER replaced my trans!! ARGH!

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but @post #49 ZZZYA mentioned the possibility of a hi-flo cat gone bad and clogging the exhaust. I got concerned when I read this, as I have hi-flos, and have not heard of this problem. Has anyone experienced this? Thanks.

Honestly, you give a bad name to high school kids everywhere!
And what the h3ll were you thinking letting a "buddy" do a valve body installation on a car that has 850 miles on it?!

It makes you appreciate what you have...now I hope you have learned a very important lesson...dont f*ck with the car unless you know what you are doing. I still think it is somthing else...these techs dont know half as much as they think they do.You might find another dealership can find the problem and fix....shouldnt be that way but it is.
