06 fuel milage LOW!!
i have 900 miles on my 06 track 6sp
i use the SAME driving habbits and patterns as my old 03' tour. both stock
i had the 03 for about 11k miles and regualrly got upper 20's on freeway/ lower 20's city
in the 06 i only get lower 20's freeway and upper teens city!!! and thats with granny break-in driving
I know i know i didnt buy z for milage (but was consideration)
but im more concerend if im getting the most efficency since efficency makes for more power with less effort.
and yes i know that the 06 is rated ONLY 1mpg lower
any ideas?? ( just had first oil change)
should i call in for service?
thanx!!

well by all means then turbonate me!!
and ill get one of those screw on turbo sound thing on the rear exhaust tip too!
yea i thought of the extra weight but each 100lbs decreases about 1mpg i believe but i had way more than that in stereo equip in old Z,,]
i do hope it improves with time ... like a fine wine ..

The early cars had a 3000+ mile breakin cycle in the computer. It will loosen up some too(less friction). When my car was new I had a heater in secounds now its normal. The tightness will effect every part. Check the air in the tires, deals don't ever do it at all.

I've read a couple of posts by people with '06s getting bad gas mileage, and I was really worrried. But I picked up my '06 on Saturday, and I'm averaging 23-24 mpg in a mix of city/highway driving. That's about the same that I got in my '05. Now, I am driving it really "nice" since it's still going through break-in, but so far I'm happy with the mpg.

there is a different when you say city/highway..
first of all.. what the percentage? for me its about 30% highway and i get about 19 mpg.
also city... some city you there are few stop lights with speed limit set at 45 just about through the whole city and then some places. city is like 25 mph with instane amount of stop lights.. if your car feels fine.. i wouldnt not worry about the mpg.. what you can do is get on the highway reset the mpg and just see if it comes up to bout 26-28 after 5-10 min.. if it does then your car is running fine.

i was making the comparison of milage to MY last 03' with same driving habbits/ patterns it definatly much lower.
i was mainly wondering how long i should wait until / if i have to take in in for something like that.
most my driving IS city, just like b4

(quick tip) if you drive a manual drive about 70 mph and rest gas mileage on the gauges. use premium gas and you possibly may want to try to go to o rileys auto parts or auto zone or whatever. buy a can of b-12 add it to your full gas tank. then when getting oil changes add it to you engin when cold while at the oil change place. let your engine idle for about 5 minuits and then let them change the oil. next by a set of platnium spark plugs for a tune up because you never know how long your car has been sitting at the dealership so a instant tune up is necessary. and finaly only go to O riley's ans buy their brand of ram air intake. install it to your stock intake pipe, keep the co2 sensor attached. be sure to remove your stock air filter box and now you should add about 15 horse power with an intake that cost about 30 bucks what a deal and you will average about 36 miles a gallon. Be clear not tellin you something i heard i have done it and my car averages 39 miles a gallon on hiway and 29.8 in the city. please follow carefully and let me know who it turns out

A new car always has bad mileage while the ECU adjusts to your driving style, sets timing, etc. I noticed MPG improvements after 1000 mi or so.
Gas is cheap these days so I don't really watch the mileage, though.
