I know it says for 6mt only. But what if i have the mt pumpkin and just swap the gears and install it on my 5at?? Would it work? I know for a fact the 350 evo 3.9 fd works as long as i have the mt pumpkin.it shoudl make sense that these will as well right?

Yes, and maybe no. They are probably not going to make any new products, but if the demand stays there for the current products they do have available, they might keep selling that stuff

In order to use this, you need a 6MT pumpkin and the assoicated parts needed to make it all work together - having never done this before, I cannot comment on what exactly is needed to make it work. As far as bearings go, they are a wear item, so it is at the users (or preferably the installers) discretion as to whether or not they replace them. Since I am not an expert in bearing construction or life, I'll defer to your installer to tell you if you should do them or not. When I did my own gears, I had arond 18k miles on the car - I did not replace any of the bearings as none of them needed replacement.

As for the quality of the units, again, the first batch is arriving any day, so I have not seen them first hand. However, Central 20 is an OLD company in Japan, with a 30 year history of modifying and racing Z's

I cannot comment on the stock ring gear thickness as I don't have one to look at (my installer accidentally tossed mine away when my ring and pinion was installed) but I don't see why/how it could be any different. As for compatibility with the Quaife, since we chose to not sell the Quaife differential for the Z, you'll be on your own there. I made sure to check prior to deciding to carry these if this ring and pinion would work with the LSD's we offer (NISMO, Cusco, ATS), and was informed by Central 20 all of these, as well as the stock viscous LSD, are compatible.

Also, we can do a package deal with the ring and pinion and LSD, but are not going to offer any "preassembled" packages with pumpkins, etc - simply too time consuming.

Sorry if I posted this too soon Adam.

Central 20 is definitely old skool JDM and if the parts fit ther other LSD's as mentioned, I think it is safe to say that it fits the other LSD's. Disclaimer: Coming from me and not Z1

It's about time, 240sx ring & pinion sets go for about $450.

OK - install kits are now posted on the site as well. We offer 2 types of kits. The first includes all the mandatory parts (with the exception of the side adjustment shims since they are install specific). For those who also want to replace all the bearings and bolts, we offer those as well

About how many units do (or did) you have in stock and do you have any time frame on when the next batch is coming?

out of this batch that just came in, there are now 4 left. I have no idea about timing on the next round, as its up to how fast Centeal 20 produces them. Like most parts from boutique manufacturers in Japan, they are made in pretty low volumes

This is great!

FYI: Since these gears work on the ATS, Cusco, etc...LSD's, it will work on the Quaife as well, assuming you have the Quaife properly installed with the spacer plate/bolts.

install usually runs around $400 or so from most everyplace I have heard of. As for socal, best bet is probably to ask some people in that regional forum

Just a quick note...we unwrapped these today and shipped out the several units that were sold over the weekend. As expected, the quality was impecable. Every ring and pinion set is shipped as a matched set, and the machining was flawless - no burs, nor imperfections of any kind. If you are looking for a 3.9 R&P, these simple can't be beat

I have a 6MT, but swapped pumpkins with a 5AT for better driveability when I went FI. Does this mean I can't use this 3.9 FD? I didn't notice a difference with the pumpkins when we swapped.
