Mine's getting Quaifed today as well, along with a Central20 3.9:1 gearset. Some sort of galactic convergence?

as far as i know you are the first to mate 3.9's to the quaife. although it's been posted that no problems would be expected, would be nice for you to confirm.

thanks

Got it back this afternoon, and haven't really had a chance to thrash it well, but it really, really works.

My shop actually sent it out to a partner to have it rebuilt, but I'm told everything went together just fine. I provided the Quaife, spacer and (beautiful) ARP bolts, the Central20 ring&pinion and small install kit from Z1, plus a few other bits from Courtesy and Performance (new flanges, bearings, seals, gaskets, and a Nismo cooler), and they provided the shims and filled it with Motul 300 when it was done.

I'm still wearing my all-season Pilot Sports, but come Spring I'll be putting some softer rubber on, I think. It hooks up so good now, that I'm really wondering how it might do with something like AD7's. Wife just got her TSX, so Z is probably going to be short-range transport from now on. _Quick_, short-range transport.

Finally got my Quaife installed today. I will do the review after this weekend. First impressions are good just cruzing around in a parking lot, but it started to snow so I went home.

Finally got my Quaife installed yesterday. The new unit sent from Quaife went in without a problem and I'm happy to say works as advertised after some light spirited driving. Won't be able to stretch it's legs until the next track day though. Just glad it's working out.

Good to hear!
Did Quaife determine what was wrong with the original unit?

Not yet. Rob just shipped the "defective" unit back to Quaife yesterday. I'll update as soon as I hear the verdict. Probably will be awhile.

In case anyone was still interested, I received an email recently from my contact person at Quaife USA stating that the sun gear in my original LSD was indeed installed reversed from the factory. That had no affect on how the LSD operated but it did cause one side of my stub axle to have play which caused the sensors to trip. So now a reimbursement claim has been put in but who knows who long that will take to process. So far I'm happy with the way things have been handled even though it hasn't been quick. The point is Quaife has been doing the right thing. I'll give my final thumbs up once I receive my check.

Well, they certainly have followed through to the T. They took it in, gave you a brand new one, took the broken one back, and even followed up with you on what was wrong. On top of that, your getting reimbursed.

Pretty good deal.
