Thumbs up Latest Crawford dynos . . .

Well with the recent plethora of dyno posts we did not want to be left out, lol. It has been a while and we wanted to play with the E-Manage Ultimate tuning a little on Saturday as we felt inspired to tune and tweak. Its really the first time we have gone to the dyno with only tuning in mind since our initial trials with motec and then with EMU. It was exciting to have continued success and leave with a smile on our faces.

Just some notes: I am posting both the uncorrected and SAE corrected graphs of the best modified and tuned run vs. our best stock run. The numbers are WHP with smoothing set to 3. The car was run on a dynojet with 93 octane on 275/40 18 with 40 psi in 5th gear. The stock runs were made with same car with 93 octane on stock 17’s with 40psi in 5th gear. We understand that we will probably have some loss due to the larger and heavier tires, but we are going to just let that go for now.

The car as setup now has JWT pop charger, Crawford Z Car custom larger smooth intake tube, bored throttle body, plenum, BIG cams, reworked heads, headers, cats , stock lower plenum, and Borla exhaust. The computer and tuning are a slighty modified stock ECU by Technosquare to up the rev limiter and adjust cam timing for the custom cam grinds. The ignition and fuel is controlled by the emanage unit.

Say what you want about the ability or lack their of for hitting 300 hp, but you cant help but be impressed with the comparison to the stock car. Just look at the area under the curve. The car is truly a different beast. After this tuning session we are doing as well with the emanage as we did with the motec. We are still on the quest to find the perfect cam setup and we really are suspect in how over worked these particular heads are. If you look at how flat the upper rev range is it hits its peak and just says there. While we are very happy to see no drop off we are not satisfied. We know this can be improved with finding the limiting factors, including redoing some of the things we have already worked on. We will keep on working until we think we have given it all we have.

Go Fast Have Fun . .

OK on to the dynos (click for full pic):

Uncorrected 296.3 HP / 244 TQ

SAE corrected 290 HP / 254.2 TQ

Nice. I wonder if switching to test pipes and one of the new exhausts like the HKS true dual would benefit you since have larger cams and headwork?

Now take it to track!

We dont use pullies, especially with the increased rev limits.

Impressive results Doug!

Are you considering another exhaust system for your future testing?

Not unless someone wants to give me one to try, experimental cams are expensive enough and we have already been through a few of those.

Yes it is a beast alright.

All of this recent N/A dyno activity is getting me all worked up. I suppose it's time for me to go and find out where I am at on the dynojet I baselined on 2.5 years ago. I would be happy with 290.

Those are some great numbers, Doug! Make sure you get Bryan to do some chase video of you at VIR (if he can keep up! )

Looking forward to see the results of the other 'project' you and Bryan are working on.

Great results, Doug! You still give us N/A owners not wishing to go F/I something to cheer for. Will we see you at this upcoming Zdayz?
