Default No oil? where did it go?

ran my car hard last weekend the beach and back its about 2.5 hours round trip on the way back truned right on a street and my oil light came on. My oil pressure was just about reading 0 so I checked my oil and it looked ok. let the car cool down and drove home and car was running GREAT no loose of boost or anything . Let it sit for a few days and checked the oil again yesterday and the dip stick was reading nothing. Not even a drop. No leaks on the floor or anything. So I changed the oil out and I would say 2 or less quarts came out. filled her back up got all my pressure back reading close to 60 and car is still runing VERY strong. One thing that really worryies me is there was that snot looking stuff around my filler funel after I added oil. I rubbed my finger in the hole and got the same snot looking stuff on it. Now most of the time this means a blown head gasket ?

Any thoughts? I am having AAM look at it this week while some other goodies get installed so we shall see where my oil went.

A head gasket failure would show up some oil in the coolant reservoir..

how long since the oil change Tobi?
you may have one of the cars that needs the engine replacement for oil burning.

good luck with figuring it out buddy.

give me a call if you need something.

lol... well with a hks strapped to it they might not!

but some of the 2003/04 cars burned oil excessively and qualify for the engine replacement program through nissan.

GOD! take off all mods rreplace with OEM parts that I would have to buy because I sold mine, $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ might as well build the motor now it would cost the same to get me back to stock for nissan to do this even then there no guarante (sp) nissan would do it. so sell OEM agian and put mods back on.

I rather just keep adding oil if thats the case. But hey allway wanted to buiild my motor might be my chance. just needed a reson to tell the wife. LOL

almost the same thing happened to me. I got a oil change from nissan for the very first time and after 1 thousand miles, my oil was gone! Its either nissan f*cked up and didnt put enough oil or they really cheap with the oil. After i put the oil myself, i havent had any probs.

I would be scared if ever i had that oil burning prob and nissan had to replace the engine. I doubt they'd raplace my motor after putting in all my mods.

Its not uncommon for FI cars to consume a little bit of oil. Obviously, this situation is pretty extreme. I would change/refill your oil, and monitor it over the next couple weeks.

Ask AAM to do a compression/leakdown, if the problem persists,

My car has been using oil like crazy too. Same thing happened with me. Oil light came on and had 0 oil pressure. On the way to the oil change place the CEL then came on. Well I barely had any oil whatsoever and they filled it all back up. Brought the car to the dealership and they said the CEL was because of an intake solenoid problem. I'm not stupid but honestly have no idea what my intake solenoids would have to do with it. Well, just the other day (about 650 miles after the problem was resolved) I checked my oil again. It wasn't extremely low but wasn't what I wanted it to be. Took it back up to the oil place told em' to top it off and asked them how much they had to put in. They said about a quart. Now should my car be burning a quart of oil in 650 miles? I don't think so.

Sounds like you have a defective high oil consumption motor. Talk to Nissan, as they should replace your motor.
