Ok I am not sure if I have a problem...yet. But I was wondering what is all involved with a oil consumption test. How long, how many miles...etc.

Also is synthetic oil more prone to oil consumption? I used Mobil 1 last season and last summer I dropped about 1 qt in about 1k miles.

AND one final question...

What qualifies for a new motor? I have a 04 ZR with 7,500mi on it.

bro AAM is doing a consumption leakdown test on mine. I can let you know what they found later next week. as for a new motor I would call nissan I dont think ANY car should loose that much oil.

My Z comes out of winter storage on March 5th at 12 midnight. At 7am it will be at my local dealership.

Worst case....I get a new motor....

I hope they give me one of those factory wild childs that gives higher than usual hp/tq!!!

It just sucks becasue I want everything with my Z to be perfect!!!
I'll wait to install my MD spacer and KJR pully. BUT if they have to replace the motor....I am going to have them thow on a light weight flywheel forme!
