Same question. How much was it and what did they replace? Who did it?
Also, how was it after the rebuild? Did it shift better than OEM after they put new synchros in?

Try checking out this link and give these guys a call. I belive they can do it with anygear set. You just send it up to them. Im putting a VQ35 in my 240 so Im gonna be doing this to my trans later. Just thought I would share this with you guys seeing how the synchros in the 350Z trans sucks *****.

I got my tranny rebuilt about 3 months ago with the "new syncros" from the updated trannys. A local Cottman transmission shop did the rebuid and it cost 3500.00 dollars. The tranny is worse now with the new gears. All gears stick and grind and when it is cold "forget about it". The nissan tranny is a POS. I will be getting it rebuilt again with the warrenty Cottmans gave me. Best of luck.
OMFG $3500? Did they include complimentary lube and a reach around with that?
Thats way to much, sorry to hear your newer synchros and rebuild didnt fix it. My "updated" tranny has been problem free over 20K of "nice" driving...

Its been awhile but I paid around $2600 for everything. I took it to my friend's shop and let him handle it. So I am not 100% positive that it included all the gears and syncros and misc. stuff needed but I was told everything inside the tranny was replaced.
No, in my opinion it actually shifted the same as the OEM. I am already starting to get the dreaded 5th gear grind again after about 7000 miles. If I had the money I would have tried to get a better transmission or better gears.

Performance Nissan has the OEM manual transmissions here: http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...03&catalogid=1
$1881 for a brand new one seems a lot better if I can't figure out how to get the OEM stregthened somehow.

I can even do it for less then our factory parts web site price! We always have them instock...
Shipping on them is usually around $120-$140 ish...

I am still waiting for my clutch to rule that out. If not, you guys can expect an order for a new tranny from me! You might get one anyway.

That is the only one that NISSAN Ships now... The CD009
When I had my CD009, I had my TIlton in there... It was very smooth shifting...
When I put the stock clutch and flywheel back it in it was really notchy... I hated it... I think its the stock flywheel / clutch.. hehe

Just a question, but I looked at the Xtrac sequential transmission and I was wondering if you still have to press the clutch in for each shift in a sequential transmission or what you do.
