Default Engine Damper and Crawford Strut Bar....

What damper will work with the crawford bar? All the dampers I have seen mount right where the Crawford bar mounts... Anyone have this kind of a setup? Also is a damper worth tha money? And what products are the best? I have only really seen Stillen and Weapon R, both of those companys I don't so much care for.

I have the Stillen damper, and it mounts down low out of the way. Even if you don't like Stillen, there's really nothing wrong with their engine damper. It works very well.

It basically stops the engine from moving forward and helps prevent the loss or torque.. but mainly stops the engine from moving.

An engine damper like this helps stop the engine from rocking/rotating. The 350Z uses very soft engine mounts that allow quite a bit of engine movement. Just pop the hood and watch the engine while a friend revs it. You can see it rocking back and forth a decent amount. This is amplified even more while actually driving. (Revving an engine won't make it rock back and forth quite as much as actual driving will.) The Stillen damper (and all others I've seen) basically act like a little shock absorber, slowing and reducing that rocking motion. You still get a little bit of movement, but noticeably less.

Reducing this engine movement simply allows for a more "positive" feeling when engaging the clutch. It's a bit hard to explain, but you can feel the improvement immediately after installing a damper like this.
