Why can't you? On Super2nr TV this weekend, a guy from Turbo magazine demonstrated how to do a burnout on both front and rear wheel drive cars. The rwd car he used was the 350Z, and he didn't say anything about pulling fuses. Just powerbraked it like any other car. Whats the details of the track nite anyway>? My wife is going to a friends, so I might be interested.

pull the 3rd brake light fuse, as demonstrated in the "we tune the 350Z" issue of sport compact car for their cover shot.

it had to do with the drivebywire system cutting power to 20% when the brake is depressed.

as for the track thing, PM crazybostonian(or somethin along those lines), the one with the M6. him and a bunch of guys are going to a track on saterday at noon. about an hour south of atlanta. Im gonna tag along. but I dont have any details, youd have to touch base with him.

I can burn in a line, but can you sit in one spot and peel the tires? I thought that was impossible, the SCC mag said they had to pull the fuse to do their cover shot.

If your driving ALL THE WAY down to silver dollar race way, you wont need to heat your tires up hhahaa.

Just pull around the puddle and GO! We went last year, it was a blast.........this year it may be WAY WAY too cold to even consider it.

Keep me in the loop if you are going.........i may go too.

PS-- its VERY FAR AWAY!!!!!!!!!

eh, drives fun Im sure, as all drives in the Z are. I better PM the guy to make sure its still on. hope it is. I know my tires will heat up on the trip, but theyll cool down a bunch between runs. but yeah, must make note to pull around puddle, the cars behind me will love it when I drip water all over the track.

in order for me to powerbrake and burn out in one spot for the DVD video shoot, I had to pull the brake wire harnesses down by the brake pedal.

I tried without doing that and turning off TCS but it would still chop the power if both brake and accel were depressed.

You gotta pull that wire harness in order to do sustained burn-outs.

If you're running street tires don't bother doing any radical burnouts before your run. Sure you can burn them till they smoke, but the end result will be minimal. Yeah they'll be hot, but the increase in grip won't be worth it. The best results will probably come from driving around the water pit, center the car and get the rpm's up for a 1 or 2 second burnout. (no need to hold the brake) Gas it, clutch out. 2 seconds later clutch in and off the gas at the same time. This will clean the tire of debris. The problem with street tires in the water pit is that no matter how silly you get with burn outs they still trap water in the tread and drop it on the ground at staging. NOW, all that being said....If you want to do MAJOR burn outs for sh*ts and giggles, I haven't heard of anything besides turning off VDC. It would make sense that Nissan built in the "anti-powerbrake" protection, and it would make sense that it's sensor would be upstream of the brake light. Good luck and let us know how it works out.

on Super2nr TV they did pull something. Cause the break lights were not on. At first I thought it was just the a bright day, but looking closely the brakelight never change.
