Default Need help regarding Wideband AFR Sensors and Gauges.

Hey guys. I need some input regarding purchasing and installing Wideband AFR Sensors and Gauges. I have the following questions.

1. Which ones are the best on the market?

2. Do I have to change out my stock O2 sensors?

3. Is this an easy install for a mid-level tuner with a background in wiring and electronics?

4. Will I need to purchase more than one due to the fact the our cars are equiped with one 02 sensor on each side of the engine?

5. Does anyone have or used the PLX R500 Wideband Sensor with data logging and is it worth the money?

I'm asking these question because as I start modding the engine more it seems like a good investment to know what my motor is doing on the daily before and after tuning. Since a lot of you guys have already gone FI, I figured most of you should already have these installed already.
The only thing that I've heard for sure is to stay away from the AEM stuff.

Care to give a fellow member a hand?

Sounds like you should check out Cipher.
http://www.uprev.com/products/cipher_NI.html

Cipher is a Nissan/Infiniti Data and Diagnostic system.

Cipher does not require you to change out your stock O2 sensors. In fact, Cipher will read directly from your 2005 wideband sensors.
As far as install... Cipher only takes a few minutes to install to your laptop and our interface cable plugs directly into your OBDII port. No wiring installation required.

you won't need to remove or do anything to the stock 02 sensors. you will need to weld in a new 02 bung though, as all the wideband gauges come with their own 02 sensor. i am running the aem gauge, or should i say was. it just took a turd on me. the innovate w/b is one of the best i hear and i am prolly switching to that. wiring is no more complex than finding a ground and accessory on power supply.

Most widebands use the same Bousch sensors so it's really up to you on what you like. They are all gonna work about the same. Some have diffent features than others and then of course you have the different looks.

Thats good information! Thanks.. Since I have a NISMO catback should I have the new O2 bung welded at the Y pipe? Should the new O2 sensor be placed before the cats or after? Does it matter either way?

This sound like a really great product that would make a nice addition to my UTEC but I don't wanna have to drive around with my laptop mounted(somehow) in my car all the time. However it's something I'll think about in the future. Thanks.

Please guys. The more information we can gather on this subject the better. It seems as though others have had some of these same question. Seaching the forum results in almost nothing but a waste of time and more confusion. So if you have some rgood information to share please do.
From the way I understand it, anyone who expects to do any kind of modding or tuning on the Z should be considering purchasing good Wideband AFR Sensors and Gauges anyway.

Thanks guys.

I think I might get an innovate gauge as well.

Where can we buy A-pillar mounts that hold 3 gauges?

Now is a wideband completely necessary for N/A vehicles because N/A vehicles dont need to run rich. Can we use the stock o2 sensors for a/f or are they not accurate?

Use 2 WB's. One on each side and get a cover for the bungholes in case you don't want to run your WBs 24/7 ( will last longer). AEMs are fine to use
