Default Oem Clutch Flywheel Maintenance?

I was jsut wondering if this is true, since one im not too sure about it since i thought they were independent and two because my uncle, who works as the warranty manger at a nissan dealership, told me about it...when you service a worn out clutch, do they have to replace both the clutch and the flywheel together?

*note: i dont have a z yet, but am in the process of possibly getting one in the next two months .
and i also plan on learning stick on the z.

its the same with any clutch you can get the flywheel resurfaced if its not too bad but in a high performance car like the z you would be better off putting a high performance flywheel in. its not that much more

the reason he said that is for the fact dual mass flywheels are hard to resurface. not too many machine shops will attemp it. i have not checked on the stock dual mass flywheel price, but i'm sure you would be better off with a lightweight one and prolly come out money ahead.
