Default Tranny 008 vs 009 (experts plz chime in)?

ok, so I just got approved for a new trans after developing a 2-3 grind. I asked the tech which model trans it was and he said it was the 008. now I know there is an 009 model and I'm wondering if there are any signifcant differences in the two models that should motivate me to talk to NNA about getting the latest version of the trans? I mean why would they even have a more recently revised version of the trans if there weren't somewhat significant differences. I just don't want to deal with developing trans problems again and having to take more time to remedy this issue if it might be resolved here and now. jason or folks who are currently using the 008 or 009 trans please give me your input. thanks.

007 died so they replaced him with 008, which ended up grinding some ho and the newest secret agent is 009. So far, no problems with him.

You can't ask for a certain series replacment when they replace the trans under warranty. I had my replaced in Nov, and they put in a 008. No problems yet.

thanks for the input jet, although I don't see why you can't ask. I mean I really want to know why they have a newer version of the trans if there aren't any significant differences. and if those differences mean that I don't have to spend more of my time/money bringing my car back in to do another trans swap then I expect that and I'll raise hell to try and get it.

I know there are a lot more of you with trans replacements so please give me some input here. thanks.
