goin out on a limb and saying thats a turboed maxima right? thats some great numbers, however I have a feeling max's are a bit "easier" to turbo. 12.5PSI in the Z and compression would be a problem Id think. or did the max have to have low compression pistons anyway?

Its a stock VQ30DE motor, 10.0:1 CR. Z's VQ35DE has 10.3:1 CR so its not that major of an increase. Cam specs are bigger in the VQ35DE, so dynamic compression would be about equal in the top of the RPM range.

Very impressive numbers.

As mentioned, torque steer must be hellish!

What octane are you having to run without detonation?

I cant speak for sure for Nigel, I assume 92 or 93 oct, he's in Colorado so what ever Super Unleaded pup gas istheir, but I run 93 in my SC'd Maxima. Using the J&S Ultra Safeguard to control ignition timing takes the fear of detonation out the picture. Nigel has a J&S I dont know how he has it set. I pull 1 degree of timing per lb of boost starting at 9psi and I peak at ~14-15psi. I am not running an intercooler, Nigel is. The Maxima does have conservative ignition timing from the factory, so I would bet that the Z's VQ35 has more timing advance so it would reguire more timing retard under boost on stock internals with 93oct and/or a good intercooler. I cant believe the stock rods took it, factory shot peening is a good thing I guess.

valuetl, you don't get torque steer in RWD cars. It's when you have front wheel drive, and don't have limited slip mostly. One wheel loses traction, and the other pulls hard, and forces the steering to pull to one side.

Oh, my bad, it is. I was thinking in terms of the Z. Ignore my previous comment.

I drove a 2003 maxima while my Z was having warranty work done, and it had pretty bad torque steer with the 255 it comes with, so I imagine 429 at the wheels would be pretty aweful.
