Default Pesky ECU Issues - Any real solutions yet?

Well, I have been a member of this forum for a while now. I have been mostly a lurker. I often do not frequent this site in the winter months while my Z is away..

Have our ridiculous ECU issues been solved by some magical company yet?

Last I heard, even after the Technosquare reflash people were still skeptical about the ECU negating mods. Is it truly safe for me to add bolt-ons yet? OR do I have to worry that bolt-ons will probably rob power due to that engineering conundrum we call an ECU?

Hey Sentry. It's interesting you were the first to reply. I think you were the originator of the last major ECU thread that I had read. And as of that last thread, we still hadn't gained much ground =/

The ECU does not negate mods. I started at 238 whp (over 3 years ago) I have hit in the 270's the past 3 dynos. With the hotter cams and the Emanage Ultimate, Doug has been hitting in the upper 290's the last several dynos.

Yes its hard to tweak the ecu but it does not rob power.

Well, what if there were no engine management solution? Just the mods and our ECU?

yeah its not that ecu negates mods, its that it starts gradually walking you down in power until you go WOT to redline like 6 times in a row because it's trying to save you gas and make better emissions.

on a road course where you'll WOT to redline 20 times in one lap, you won't notice any loss in power.

If you're driving around town though and decide to stomp it, chances are the ECU won't give you full power unless you've been driving around town at WOT all day

The UTEC will 100% overide the ECU's timing and A/F and give you as an aggressive tune as you set it to for WOT and also partial throttle positions I think - I know the emanage ultimate does partial throttle positions anyway. Both will give you target A/F and timing except right now the emanage ultimate does not let you do target timing quite yet until greddy gets off their butt and updates the firmware

That's sort of what I meant by "negate". But I see what you mean, that makes much more sense.

Wow...some good news, finally! This whole subject has been pretty depressing.
