Sun named it "X-Power" in Japan and "Hyper Force" for exports, a link that describes how it works : http://www.sigmaautomotive.com/HFS/hfs.php

They tested on a Evo VIII and it made 16.8 HP, I also found independent dynos in HK where they made 18 RWHP on WRX and 7 RWHP on new JDM Odyssey.

Anyhow...I guess I'll stay with Twin Power

Its still in the works on my end. Some of you guys are so damn impatient-and even if somebody does provide dyno's it will be questioned then as well Like the guy above me said, this is a proven part, and set up correctly on a Z, especially FI Z it will provide gains....time will tell how much.

hmm weird, a couple years ago I was asking about this and everyone said the stock ignition system is plenty good enough and it only helps if you're running 600+whp cars anyway at extreme high revs. Someone local had one installed and said it made his car idle and run very very smooth. But everyone just said it isn't needed on the Z back then. But now that HKS specifically packaged it up for the Z, suddenly everyone wants one

I know exactly what you mean dude! I got the same response when I asked that very same question too. The only differance is that I was thinking about getting the MSD CDI unit whice works about the same way. I guess the HKS system would be better seeing that it was made for the Z but honestly... I don't see any difference between the two units other than having the wire uo the MSD unit yourself. Am I missing something or am I just wrong?

how much better gas mileage can this thing honestly possibly give you though - seriously, cause if was like a 25% improvement, then every car manufacturer would be using this type of ignition.

It's probably like a what? 5% improvement?

I'm thinking about getting one and have it put in when I replace my injectors...

Yeah, I read that already, still dont understand it. I can tell you that its a passive device rather than active like the HKS, if its job is to absorb than its not contributing to improve the performance of the spark. You dont have to sell me on the HKS. I'm an old muscle car guy, I get capacitive discharge, it in of itself may not improve the dyno performance, it will however allow for a more agressive tune and improve perormance by allowing for a larger gap to be used and not allowing misfire due to combustion turbulance. (i.e. boost, nitrous or other forms of forced induction that may extinguish a weak spark).

So true. My car use to feel like it was running off a 9 volt battery and now it feels like it is powered by a 15K kilo watt generator.

Yes its worth it imo, like everybody said car feels so much smoother. We add guages to monitor engine vitals, tune it to make sure we are safe, add aftermarlet oil pans/spacers for extra safety why not add an ignition that has been proven on others cars and not this one yet? $580 after taking th eprice of our FI set-ups into account is a small price to pay for a better ignition set-up.

What do you guys recommend I open the gap to? Im running 0.035 right now I was thinking 0.045....

HKS products are the chit (except for the s/c.....sorry)! I wish they would have had a TT kit when I bought my greddy. I would have been all over it.

My next mod will probably be switching the greddy profec boost controller for the HKS EVC.

I just read the other day that there is in fact an hks turbo system supposedly comin in the works for the vq35.

I don't know if this will make you happy or **** you off because you already have a greddy kit...... but there it is.

There's even a thread about it here: https://my350z.com/forum/forced-induction/188926-hks-vq35-twin-turbo-announced.html

How are they different? Can they be used to complement each other?

A little late with my response, but I just saw this.

There's always something better coming out than what you have, but I am happy with my Greddy.

A new ECU just came out as well and I have the FCON which was one of the few standalone EMS available for our cars.

because I've run into the HKS not running with the emanage ultimate, I want to double check the wiring is done right.

is this how it is supposed to be wired up, or does it actually not matter at all which wire goes to which cylinder?

I know there are different ways to wire it, but the pic above shows how I wired mine.
