Default Performance potential of the Z

Ok so basically im still torn between the evo and the 350z. but ive been leanign more towards the evo because of its potential to be very fast for veryy cheap (low 12's/high 11s with just tbe/flash). However i am not very sure about the potential for the 350z to gain more power over stock. I am not looking to turbo the car so basically, will breathing components net me any hp at all? ive heard that the 350z's motor is already almost maxed out to the peak of its ppotential. Just need some help, it would be greatly appreciated.

hitting 300whp would be one helluva goal NA. However, once the car is turbo'd and built, its only as fast as traction lets it be. There are 2 or 3 guys that have hit 700whp and a dealership in NJ has hit 1800whp. its got potential, just the market is too expensive. NA is the least economic way to get power.
If you're looking to go fast and handle real good, get the EVO.

yeah thats what i was thinkin, can't do much with the Z naturally aspirated. NA with my rsx-s is the way to go tho lol. I/H/E/Flash will get you runnin mid 13's and around a 30 hp gain.

THanks for the help man!

Evo's are fast, but I don't care for how they look. the Z has potential if you go F/I. I don't know why you think they are inexpensive. I don't price them, but I thought I heard a decently equiped Evo is a few thousand more than a Z

I have only seen a couple guys at the drags that could get low 12's never saw any 11's. They bog like a SOB. In bracket racing I love to be next to one, since so many things can go wrong down the track. I always make sure they see me put on my brake lights before I hit the finish.

under a grand for nitrous kit and under a grand for bolt ons

test pipe, KnN, plenum spacer, pulleys... <1000

recently i have added a utec computer that costs me 1000 but i havent tuned it yet so it hasnt helped my NA times

so you can say under 3000 total for performance spread out over the last 6 months...

there are plenty of N/A Z's out here turning mid 13's without an ECU reflash.
Corsair on this board turns 13.4's and all he has is plenum spacer, exaust, JWT intake and after market cats.........and he can't drive for $hit (sorry Sean).

I mean if you're all about track racing, NA is the best route since its much safer, easier to tune and RWD is king unless you have AWD w/ a monster tranny and clutch.
For a daily driver, i'd love to have the evo.. 4 seets, a big trunk and AWD. I chose the Z for a reason however. Its got a lot of potential. Past 400whp, both cars will cost you the same for the power.
