Because no matter what you put in it, it's still a maxima. It will undoubtably be fast, but a middle class front wheel drive four door sedan will never be cool haha

you say that like I slapped his sister, but I would asume with 800-900 HP it will be faster than any "Z" or G35 owned by a member on this forum yourself included. I never said it would be slow, but just because it's fast doesn't make it cool. I also said his setup was badass, despite that I still think it's a waste to throw it in a FWD car, simply another obsticle to overcome when trying to run a good time.

you didn't slap his sister, but you don't have to be a fuking dick either.

I am sure it will be faster than my G, but at least I own a G. Do you even own a Z? Anyway I am willing to beat that my 580whp G is faster than what ever you drive. At least my G is mine. I don't bench race "other" poeple's cars.

Well you could have just left it at that you thought it was badass. You didn't have to make fun of his Maxima cause you don't like sedans.

I am not offended, but if arseholes like you keep calling his Maxima a POS he may stop posting on this site. He's going to for 900whp and some day I would like to do the same so I could learn something from him. I can't really learn anything from him if he stops posting on here because people keep calling his car a POS.

You're right... it's just a Maxima..

Fortunately, I'm not here to impress you with the chassis that this engine is going into. I'm here to share info and discuss ideas about building this calibur of engine.. because I figured that some of the guys/gals here might appreciate it. That's what these automotive chat forums are about, right?

Anyway.. back on topic please.

i don't know what you are doing to your car or what you have done, but good luck. as far as cooling goes, water/alcohol injection could help some. just trying to offer what little help i can. and dry ice/liquid CO2 are assets... cold, inflammable, and cheap.

and Apex, i've got a cheap sedan for you. Z, G, or whatever it is you drive. it is only a waste if he kills his dream because of what others say.

It's a customer's car.. I'm just building it how he wants it. I own a 89 S13 coupe, which is getting a cammed/bolted VQ35 and a little spray.. I also own a blown 2000 GT (wife's car). I prefer RWD.. but, if set up properly.. FWD can hook too.

We're going to set up two maps in the TEC 3. One will be a pump gas, street map.. and the other will be a VP Import race gas map for the track. I hope to hit around 550whp on 94 octane with a safe tune. That's plenty enough power for the street. I think meth/alky injection works great... I just don't like to tune with it and rely on it. If you take the engine to the edge with injection, and you have any sort of clogging, or break down in the system.. it could cost you a motor. No doubt, it does work though..

We catch a lot of flack... hell, we work primarily on Sentra's.. It takes a lot more than that to kill my ambition.

great pics. i wouldnt mind doing the VQ30 front end conversion there just for the sake of "cleaning" things up a bit and simplifying the engine, but I really credit the VTC for a decent ammount of the torque that we have and supras dont.

Yes, VTC definately helps low end/midrange.. Unfortunately, with the TEC 3 standalone setup that we're using.. we can no longer control the VTC system.

If he "kills" his dream because of what I or any others say he has some serious confidence issues and should instead be spending that money on a therapist. I'll even wish him good luck with his project to make you feel better. Good luck with the project if looks sweet so far!

And as long as people stop commenting on my responses I am done here. Sorry for making this informative thread harder for you travis.

Travis,

Excellent write up, I'm enjoying reading along and drooling. What did you do to the heads and valve train on this engine for the high boost/RPMs? I don't think I see anything mentioned other than the JWT C2 race cams and spring package. Stock otherwise?

Stock valves, stock retainers, stock ports.. with JWT proto cam/spring package. The stock valves are inconel/stainless alloy from the factory.. It's very rare that you see a Nissan valve fail, except extreme stress from very high seat pressure/RPM. Our destroked QR25DE engine, which revs to almost 9K, has stock valves/retainers.

After we finish testing this engine, and get comfortable with it.. I'll probably start offering built engine packages.. But, that's for another thread..
