I wonder if you will have any oil circulation problems since the tracts for the VTC oil passegeways are gone now?

 

The way the system works... is that the 3.5 rear timing cover has a provision/extension coming up from the oil galley, feeding the lower o-ringed passages. On the VQ30, the extension doesn't exist.. so, the lower holes never see oil pressure. Basically, they become dead passages. I'll probably build some block off plates to bolt to where the VTC solenoids mount.

I think thats what Top Secret does with most of the VQ motors they build.

 

I'm having some pieces cut out on the waterjet/CNC to build a plenum with a volume of around 5 liters.. It'll have 90* aluminum elbows welded to a 1/2" aluminum flange, which will bolt to the stock lower portion of the intake manifold. The face plate will have a 1/4" radiused entry into each runner, cut out on the CNC. That will give us a nice/smooth transition into each runner, versus a 90* edge. The TB opening will be cut for a Q45 throttle body. Anyway.. Here's a scan from the autocad program..



If testing goes well, I will probably build a few more..

Working on a stainless turbo y-pipe for our 1000hp project.. It's about 75% complete.. The merge is finished, and I built/tacked the piping this afternoon. It took a while to get the fitment perfect.. But, I'm pretty pleased with it. From the merge, it's going to bend upwards, 90*, and place the turbo inlet in the bumper. This car has no A/C, and a half-size radiator, so, it's a straight shot to the bumper/grill area. The 3.5" downpipe will run over the trans, and down between the trans/firewall, and finally, into the tunnel.

OMFG That is so sick. Trav you have to be the god of sentra's on B15sentra(dot)net. Every one is probably waiting to see what you do next. when I left the forum in 04 they were sill speculating on the Borge Warner SC's and a few turbos were comming out, no one ever though you would lube her up and shove somthing that size in to that little engine bay.

How did you manage it?

*** that noise thats down right unfair . Have this sleeper pull up next to you and the only thing you notice diffrent is the exhaust is a little deeper until he stomps it then its alot deeper and louder. As he pulls away you wonder WTF

 

I raced my buddy coming back from the track, in his 03 Z/6spd. He had headers, cat delete pipes, exhaust, and intake.. We went from a 30mph roll up to 130ish.. It was hard to tell.. but we agreed on 3-4 cars at around 130mph.. He was amazed at the "little sentra that could"..
