they assume europeans drive much faster (average highway speeds are a good 20-30mph faster than here) European Zs also have a bigger radiator. People who track their cars are a minority everywhere.

Japanese drive much slower, so makes little sense they have it standard (I am not sure the have it standard... can anyone confirm?)

But maybe they just don't like americans

There are plenty of locations to lift the rear, never lifted a car on the diff...

It's in the service manual, the diff is a lift point

Anyone know if Canadian or Japanese spec cars are also equipped with finned differential cases?

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but that is the best answer you can expect to receive since that is the only answer. If you are serious about getting the pumpkin then that would be on you to locate a dealer in any one of those regions who would be willing to ship a 70+ lb differential overseas.

So, can some of our UK or Middle east brothers go to the local Nissan Parts department and get us a part number for the case?

You can't buy just the case. The case is sold with everything already in it (Ring and Pinion, VLSD, etc). Which of course makes it very heavy and shipping very expensive.

Selling a brand new 3.5FD ring & pinion and brand new vlsd to an AT would be no problem... it would more than pay for shipping and might pay for the whole thing (depending on over-seas OEM pricing)

A source is all we need to make an informed decision.
