I have been out of town for a week and a half and just tried to start my car, it tries to turn over but just wont happen, and smoke came out of the exhaust. any idea why its not starting? Any help is much appreciated!

 

Did you try jump starting it yet? Can you here the fuel pump turn on?

 

I havent tried jump starting yet, i dont think its the battery as it doesnt "click" when i try to start it and all the lights are on. I will have to go back down and see if I can hear the fuel pump..

 

im not a car expert but i dont think i am hearing the fuel pump..

 

got it started! i unplugged the MAP sensor and finally got it started, took a while though, it did not want to start but it finally did after some persistence. I drove it around for a bit and now it seems to turn on and off without any issues. Should it be ok now, or should i take it to a shop? any thoughts?

 

DO you have a CEL light?>

 

Tow it to a mechanic shop and find out.
