Torque Specs for the Pumpkin's bolts?
Torque Specs for “Pumpkin” bolts?
Does anyone have the Torque Specs for all of the bolts off of the drive shaft and axles that connect to the pumpkin, as well as the body bolts for it? I am swapping mine out tonight and want to make sure I have all of my Ducks in a row.
Any last minute advice for someone doing to swapout? I am changing the fuild in it before I make the change.
Thanks

Do you think you could take some pictures and make "how to" out of it? Also, did you get replacement nuts and bolts? I stopped by a Nissan dealership and they did not have them...

Thank you all for the Info,
Swapped out the Pumpkin Today, Took about 3 Hours. It is an excellent mod and will increase the enjoyment you have from your 5AT considerably, especially in 1st and 2nd gear.
Install Tools You Will need;
17mm Deep well and Regular Sockets
14mm Deep well and Regular Sockets
17mm Box end Wrench
14mm Box end Wrench
5 & 10 Inch Socket Wrench Extensions
Ratchet
Torque Wrench
Bottle of Loc-Tite for all of the bolts.
2 Jack stands, (Best to have the rear wheels hanging off the ground so they can be turned with the car in Neutral and the E-brake off., ramps make the job much harder if not impossible)
Change the differential gear oil.
Before installing your new one, be sure to change your Pumpkin's oil. I used Valvaline Synthetic 75-90w (Make sure it is GL5 compatible). This takes about
1.8 Quarts. With the pumpkin out, loosen the drain bolt and the fill bolt. Prop the pumpkin up at about 20 Degrees so the back is pointing down at a slight angle. Remove the drain plug and then the fill plug.
Clean off all of the metal shavings on the drain plug.
Once all of the oil is out (about 15 minutes), install the drain plug back in.
Level off the pumpkin on a table. I put a ¾ Inch piece of wood under the front of it near the drive shaft stub to level it. Then fill the pumpkin with oil until it starts to come back
out the fill hole. (about 1.8 quarts). Clean up the area and install the fill plug back in.
Removing the Pumpkin and Installing it.
Removing the pumpkin is fairly time consuming. I recommend removing the rear bolt first. Then Remove the Axle bolts (6 on each Side) and the Shaft Bolts (4). Both the axles and shaft will swing down out the way.
Then Remove the Sensor connector by Pushing in on the tab and pulling it up. You will also have to remove the hose, but it is best done when you drop the pumpkin.
Then remove the two remaining bolts the hold the pumpkin up. We put a broad jack under it so it would not fall, but we still had to muscle it. You have to move it forward to get the rear bolt out of it and then drop it down and back off the strut bar.
Put everything back in Reverse Order.

Bumping this old thread.. Does anyone know the torque specs for the stub axle->axles?
What would happen if some of them were over-torqued?
edit- just saw he gave a pdf picture above. so 52 ft lbs on all 6 of the axle bolts, if i read that correctly?
