I got an email from Technosquare today concerning my ECU i sent to them in Japan..
They are downloading the data right now. It seems like the US spec ECU has the same hardware as JDM spec one. They seem to have a way to work around the key inmobilizer too (means that you can swap ECU around, mainly theft protection if you put in a different key it will check the ecu serial # to start the car).
So far it looks good...
Techtom flash reprogramming device lets you overwrite the ECU with your performance data from their PC. so pretty much means that most of the programming can be done either thru in-car reprogramming from diagnostic port and direct reprogramming from ECU connector on the bench thats hooked up to a computer
The ECU (along with a report) will return to the 'States next week.
i'll keep everyone posted.

i only wish it was that easy.
alot more than that has to happen.
if you've ever seen actual ecu programming done, its pretty crazy. everything is in Hex code... and you'll have to manulaly search for the certain number sequences to change...
but it might be slightly different with the newer systems out now...

All you need with your new ECU is a little computer that links up the ECUs from two different cars. It only needs two functions... Copy, and Paste.

Hey guys-
i briefly spoke the guys at Technosquare, they want the ecu for another week, to try to get more info about it, so i said ok, as long as they think they can have something productive... i guess its just patience.
i know everyone wants a chip now but hey, if no one takes their time to do it right the first time, there's no point in getting anything out anyway...
i will keep this thread updated when i get more info.
thanks

This is what i told them to look for:
-Rev limiter,
-Immobilizer Bit
-A/F codes
-Timing.
-O2 sensor "release" <~~they prolly wont do this cuz its 'illegal' to mod these things, but would help if your stock cats happen to fall off some how.
-If we do have a speed limiter, to find that too.

So they are doing a dump right now, but are they going to modify anything on your ecu? did you tell them to raise redline, and change the a/r ratio? Thanks!
